Source: Sernapesca (2021–2024 finalized Anuario) and SUBPESCA Informe Sectorial (2025–2026 preliminary, derived from monthly YTD cumulatives). Methodologies differ slightly between sources — small step possible at the 2024/2025 boundary. Note: October 2025 was not published by SUBPESCA. The combined Oct+Nov 2025 figure was split into the two months using the 2024 monthly seasonal ratio. These two values are estimates and will be replaced once Sernapesca's finalized 2025 Anuario is published (expected ~May 2026).

Coho Salmon Harvest — Monthly Tonnes

Loading harvest data…
Source: Sernapesca (2021–2024 finalized Anuario) and SUBPESCA Informe Sectorial (2025–2026 preliminary). Coho is highly seasonal — most harvest occurs Sep–Mar, with near-zero values Apr–Jul. Methodology gap between sources is larger for Coho (~14% in 2024) than for Atlantic, which may produce a visible step at the 2024/2025 boundary.
Source & scope
Data comes from the Servicio Nacional de Aduanas (Chile), published as monthly tariff-code export files — legally binding customs declarations.
Headline methodology
The headline USD/kg for each product form is declared FOB value ÷ gross weight. Fresh whole Atlantic (HS 0302.14) is comparable to Norwegian SSB fresh-whole scope; all four forms are displayed separately.
Why product forms matter
Whole fish, fresh fillets, and frozen fillets trade at materially different prices. Fillets typically sell for $3–5/kg above whole fish. The Chile page shows each form as a separate card and lets you toggle the chart to see any form's annual comparison.
Update cadence
Aduanas publishes new monthly files with a ~4–6 week lag from month-end. Chilean data on this page refreshes automatically when new files appear.
Species scope
This page tracks Atlantic salmon and coho salmon. Rainbow trout is not displayed because Chile exports almost no trout as fresh whole — the species is almost entirely fillets and frozen whole, making a fresh-whole headline structurally meaningless. Trout data remains available in the raw pipeline for future product iterations.
Gross vs. net weight
Aduanas publishes gross weight at the tariff-code level (peso bruto), which includes packaging. Net-weight series is not available at this granularity. Implied USD/kg figures are therefore fractionally lower than pure product-only unit values — typically by 2–5% depending on packaging form. This is consistent across all reporting years and does not affect year-on-year comparisons.
